SUPER! cute candy...

These little guys are made out of straight cotton candy. That little pink guy is psyched. But what is he so happy about? Maybe he had a good first date. He may have went to an art show that blew his mind. Or he may have went apple picking with someone he cares about. Although it is possible that he saw a ten car pile up while at the race track. You never know. Whatever it is he is happy which is always good. Smile on cotton candy boys!

Happy Weekend Friends,

the eighteenth, kai origins...

So I was thinking about what I wanted to post today and I was kind of stuck on what to put up. As I have said I am working on the second issue of SUPER! and I am also working on Mortekai t-shirts as well as a few other things for the Kai. I also have done a bunch of art that is not attached to Mortekai or SUPER! at the moment. So as all of this stuff is swirling around I took a minute to think to myself. It went something like this.

"Hey Self? What would you think about a post that had few of the original Mortekai Stickers?"

"That may not be a bad idea. Kinda to show where we came from and where we are going right?"

"Well not really. I kinda ran out of ideas for today and have to make up some bullshit story to cover my ass and this is what I came up with."

" that case I say go for it!"

"Alright I will thanks Self."

"Your welcome."

Ok so here they are:
This image is called Darkness.

This image is called Goblin. This is the first version.

This image is the other color option of the Goblin.

So there is some history in our face. Ok so see you tomorrow suckas.

the seventeenth, trying out for a band...

Printing this shirt could be a real pain. The location of the print and the fact that it goes off and around the side make this a difficult job. That and the shirt has several colors. I really like this design though. So I thought I would let you all see it now. If you like it let me know and I will work hard to make it happen.

I think the original of this one was done with one line and then recolored, if anyone was interested. I like to do that sometimes. I feel keeping the line going keeps me both in and out of the drawing. Things just go from your mind to the paper, there is almost no middle. Only begining and the magical end.

She's got six strings,

SUPER! bat signal...

Man I am dead tired today. I have to get myself on a regular sleep schedule. That and I have to draw some more better pictures. This is a picture of the Batman. I wish it looked more like the Michael Keaton version. He looks way tough in that rubber body armor suit. At least he did when I was in second grade. He kinda looks a little stiff now. He can't really move his head without moving his whole upper body. Imagine trying to fight crime like that...not cool. I thought he looked pretty good in the film though. Here is a picture of the Keaton-Batman:

That is a good poker face. If you were playing cards with Batman and he gave you that face you better fold. If not you would risk losing all of your hard earned cash or you may catch a batarang to the grill. Either option is not particularly appealing.

Know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em!

SUPER! jumping to escape velocity...

A quick sketch of a guy jumping into the sky. I think he looks like Beavis. That was not my intention when I started the drawing. I actually did this one mostly with one continuos line I think. Then I just threw in some color and goofed around with the star brush :) Well that is all for now. The new issue is still getting edited and some other stuff is in the works. New pic tomorrow!

See YOU!

P.S. here is a picture of Beavis

This is Man-At-Arms. You may remember MAA from a little show I like to call MOTU or He-Man And The Masters of The Universe. If you do not know what He-Man is then click that link and get your knowledge on.

When I was a little Kai I would watch MOTU a lot. After all television is the best babysitter ever. Anyway one thing that was creepy about MAA, beside the fact that he wore hairy underwear, was that he had a mustache. Back then the mustache was an odd thing to me. I would stare up with my big kid eyes and instead of seeing lips, like you are supposed to, I would see some crazy hairy food trap. I now believe that when I was young this translated inside my brain piece to mean "Whoa that is an alien! Where is his/her upper lip!?!"

I think this may be the reason why kids cry when they go to see Santa Claus.

Check this creep out.

Freaky right?

He knows when you are sleeping. He knows if you are bad or good. And he has eggnog from like sixty Christmas' ago trapped in that beard/mustache combo he is rocking. I know smelling old dried up eggnog would make me cry. The 'stache and the fact that Santa is kind of like a Dominatrix probably amalgamate to freak kids out.

Santa's always trying to be the boss of everybody. "You be good and nice to your parents!" is one of his big things. He crushes you under his black boot and then gives you a reward if you obey him. And sometimes even if you do one little thing wrong, like cutting off some of your sisters hair or drawing an awesome picture on the wall with some crayons, he gives you a lump of coal. Santa sucks and little kids know it. His evil 'stache betrays his otherwise jolly appearance.

Bert Reynolds also has a mustache. This guy is a king creep.

But there is a counter point to this dislike of the mustache. Man people find it helpful to keep their upper lips warm. Some people use them to scare the ladies/fellas away. And then there are the others that rock them 'cause they have disco in their hearts! That's right disco!

Five out of the Six Village people agree that mustaches are cool!

And since I mentioned He-Man and do not feel like making any "gay" jokes right now you can watch this if you want.

Mortekai Never Die...

So I am working on a couple of longer posts and I will try and get one up next week. For the time being you get my man here. He is a surly fellow who has bunny ears and wings. That means he can hear you when you talk shit about him. If you crossed him like that he would pick you up and fly you into the air and drop you on the ground. You would go SPLAT! This guy is kinda kranky. He does have a good streak though. He is wearing a Mortekai t-shirt which makes him Airwolf. And he would probably pick you to be on his team in softball. Anyway have a good weekend fools!

What's up doc?

Previews of the new issue of SUPER!...

This may be a little premature, as I do not think the new issue will be out for a little while, but here are three preview pages from the new issue of SUPER! These pages read in order from top to bottom. There is a more linear story in this issue. It is a light story though. It was freeing to work on it. The story may take up the whole issue or maybe just the first half. As I said I have to finish it up :^p

Internet no workie so good today...

Yeah I was trying get this post together that I really thought was going to be fun times. Yeah I was doing that. Then my internet browser kept crashing every two seconds. So I will just have to put up two qucik pictures here for now. Hopefully the problem will be dealt with by Monday or I may have to smash this computer over someones's head. See you Monday.

A Superhero who did a bad job of making his costume at home:

At the time I drew this i was thinking about how "real" people would react to being superheroes. How would the character's family be affected etc. I will try post some more about this idea some other time.

Kareoke at Love Net, Roppongi Tokyo:

Yeah I have a ton of good pictures and stories from Tokyo. Just let it be said that the Asahi, Japan's number one beer, was going down too smooth this night. Plus you do not sing in front of an entire bar, you get a room with some friends and get down to some singin. More on this topic at a later date also.

Damn you Internet!!!!
